Enactus is one society which is common to a lot of Delhi University colleges.The Top 10 Enactus societies in Delhi University are-
1. Enactus Shaheed Sukhdev College Of Business Studies
Enactus SSCBS is running three projects in diverse settings. Project Akshar, aims at creating self sustaining business units amongst the specially abled communities, victims of drug abuse and distressed women. Project Udaan focuses on bringing about digital literacy in the rural areas by reutilising e-waste. Project Raahat, aims at eradicating the open defecation crisis from the slums of Delhi. Enactus SSCBS won the Enactus Nationals held at Taj Land’s End, Mumbai in July and will be representing India at the Enactus World Cup 2016 in Toronto.
2. Enactus SRCC
Incepted in 2007, Enactus SRCC has undertaken 12 community outreach projects till date, of which, 10 have been completed and 2 are presently running. Recently completed projects include Project Azmat and Project Kayakalp. Amongst the ongoing projects are Project Sattva which empowers rural women by making them entrepreneurs in the dairy sector and Project Asbah, which aims at empowering a community of potters in Delhi and providing potable water in rural areas via them. Enactus SRCC made it to the finals of the Enactus Nationals 2016.
3. Enactus Delhi College Of Arts & Commerce
Enactus DCAC is currently working on three projects- Project Vikalp which involves women making cotton canvas bags, Project Adhikaar which focuses on solving commutation problems by enabling 100 women driven e-rickshaws in Mayur Vihar and lastly, Project CanSurvive which aims at the financial stability of cancer patients and their families and also involves making prosthetic bras at minimal prices. Enactus DCAC made it to the semi finals of Enactus Nationals 2016.
4. Enactus Ramjas
Enactus Ramjas is running three projects. TransCreations-which focuses on the social and economic upliftment of the LGBTQ community, Aradhaga- devoted to uplifting a group of unemployed women residing in underdeveloped areas of Delhi and Project Bawarchi- which deals with substance abuse victims and help them set up food carts across the north campus. Enactus Ramjas also reached the Semi Finals of Enactus Nationals 2016.
5. Enactus College Of Vocational Studies
Enactus CVS is currently running two projects- Project Katran which aims at providing sustainable livelihoods to a group of women by training them in stitching and sewing and selling the products made by them. The recently launched Project Madari works in the direction of uplifting the Indian Traditional Magicians by providing them platforms and new shows. Enactus CVS also organised and conducted ‘Earth Hour’ in collaboration with WWF in 2015.
6. Enactus Hindu
A hardworking team of 60 members, Enactus Hindu is working on three projects- Project Shreshth has enabled financially dependent women into entrepreneurs by manufacturing and selling incense sticks. Project Oorja involves making use of solar energy for energy requirements and Project Veerangana promotes safety by equipping the beneficiaries with self-defense training which is further imparted to the society by them in form of workshops.
7. Enactus Hansraj
Project Boond is an initiative by Enactus Hansraj which involves making and selling low cost,non electric water purifiers to the people without access to safe drinking water. Another Project Lekhni is an endeavor to self-empower a community of underprivileged women by teaching them register(spiral) making technique. Project Mithaas is an endeavor to employ the farmers by rendering them with professional skills to produce honey and link them with honey suppliers, thereby providing a sustainable source of livelihood.
8. Enactus Indraprastha College for Women
Enactus IPCW started two years ago with Project Aipan which is an attempt to revive the dying art form of Aipan and empower the community of Kumaoni housewives. Enactus IPCW was awarded WalMart grand prize for Women Empowerment 2016 at The Enactus Nationals 2016.
9. Enactus Maitreyi
Founded in August 2014, Enactus Maitreyi is working hard on two projects- Project Unnayan which aspires to improve the living standards of unemployed women in Mayur Vihar by providing them specialised training in manufacturing and marketing a liquid dishwasher. The second project , Project Sawadhin aims to create a socially acceptable environment for a section of the society comprising of physically and mentally handicapped individuals, acid attack victims, domestic violence and sexually abused people.
10. Enactus Shaheed Bhagat Singh College
Project Karva, Enactus SBSC’s maiden project was launched in 2015 and targets two communities: migrant potters and underprivileged women at the NGO Streebal. Their second project Roshni, is working in the direction of uplifting the visually impaired, skilled in the art of candle making.
