When Google came to Delhi College of Arts and Commerce with an interesting event,it changed the whole ambiance. The dates of the event were 2nd-4th November,2016, in which the first two days were for participation and the third day was for the finals which were to be co-hosted by “pretentious review” comedians Biswa Kalyan Rath and Kanan Gill.
The name of the whole event was Chatterboxing which was presented by Google Allo app and to participate in the event the students needed to visit the Google stall placed near the canteen area on 2nd and 3rd of November, where they would have to download the the app and complete certain tasks given by the concerned members to reach up to the next round, this round was done in groups and the person who earned the highest points would go further and the rest would earn the interesting t-shirts by Google.
So,both the days was packed with the group of students coming and participating. The highlight was of-course the finals which were to be held in the college auditorium. There was a massive number of students to be seen in the auditorium on 4th of November. The finals started with great enthusiasm and fun. There were almost 4 to 5 rounds of tasks that were given to the participants to complete to win and in every round students were out.
The one person that made the whole event more interesting and fun was Biswa’s hosting,Kanan Gill could not stay much longer as he had to go somewhere else. The sarcastic comments and jokes of Biswa made it a worthwhile event even with some technical issues. The winner or should i say the owner of the Google pixel phone worth Rs. 57000 became a student named Tanshiq of History Honors and the rest of the participants got various different prizes offered by Google such as 10 google vouchers worth rs. 2000,20 google vouchers worth Rs 1000,20+ Google Chromecasts,50+ exclusive Google t-shirts and many more goodies. Overall the set up, hosting and the interesting tasks made the event quite successful and the highlight became the point that after years Kanan and Biswa were seen together on one stage and the credit all goes to Google and the students union of Delhi College of Arts and Commerce for such a commendable work.
