74% seats filled after the second cutoff, over 51,000 students admitted

The University of Delhi released its second cutoff on October 17. The admissions for the same closed on Wednesday. Around 74% of the seats have been filled till now.

The last day of the second list saw 15,698 completing the process as they paid the fees. While around 35,500 students have completed the admission procedure earlier. The count of students might increase as 7,546 applied applicants are remaining to submit the fees. Moreover, these candidates can pay the fees till Friday to fully complete the process.

The university has 70,000 seats in its 61 colleges. The admission for the third cutoff list will start from October 26. However, many colleges have reported that admission under several courses  will be closed in the third list. Earlier, the admission convener of a college had said “A clearer picture on how many students have finally taken admission will emerge by Thursday. We will decide the third cutoff accordingly.”

Ramjas College has reported 1,100 complete admissions, till the second cutoff. While Rajdhani College has completed around 171 admissions. The maximum number of admissions were in BCom (H).

The university will release five cutoff lists. After this, the admission will be against special cutoffs. However, in case seats remain vacant, the university will release more cutoffs.
