The much awaited Common Admission Test (CAT) result 2017 were declared on 8th January 2018.Results came out mid day around 11 AM.CAT is entrance test for getting admitted to top B-Schools. Every year one out of twenty premium IIMs (Indian Institute of Management) conducts the test.This year IIM, Lucknow was incharge of the same.
2017 noticed a total of 1.99 Lakh candidates seeking admission to top B-schoolscontrasting to previous year 1.95 Lakh.
Trends of result were a bit different than CAT 2016,the 20 candidates scoring 100 percentile included women and aspirants from non-engineering fields unlike only male engineers in 2016.
Test was conducted in two slots.Slot 1 being timed from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and slot 2 being timed from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.Along With the buzz of tough LR-DI section in Slot 1,overall level of difficulty was same as last year.
With onset of declaration of scores ,institutes will now proceed with WAT (Writing Ability Test),GD (Group Discussion) and PI ( Personal Interview) in coming days.Many institutes have already started announcing cut-offs.
Sai Praneeth Reddy from Anantapur,Andhra Pradesh,Meet Aggarwal from Surat,Patrick D’souza from Maharashtra are some of the candidates that triple crowned the test with overall 100 percentile in 2017.
