A complete lockdown in the capital will be from 22:00 IST today, April 19 onwards till 05:00 IST on April 26. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announces as the city grapples with the rising number of COVID-19 cases. This is an extension to the night curfew imposed in NCT from April 5.
India, on Sunday, reported a record-high of 261,500 new cases with the NCT on the line with 25,000 cases in the last 24 hours.
THE CM’S TAKE | COMPLETE LOCKDOWN IN THE CAPITAL
A week’s lockdown aims to break the chain and use it to ramp up the availability of beds & oxygen. However, the onus lies on us to stay home.

The Delhi CM has explicitly made the objective of the lockdown clear. He stated, “During these six days we will make arrangements for oxygen, medicines and hospital beds; we will confront this situation and we will win”.
The CM has appealed to the residents of the capital to extend cooperation during the lockdown.

Essential services, food services, medical services will continue. Weddings can be held with a total gathering of 50 people each having a separate pass. A detailed order will be issued shortly by the CM.
