Delhi University Releases Provisional List Of Candidates For DUSU Elections 2017,Withdrawal Till 6th Sept

DUSU Elections 2017 : The nomination filing process for DUSU Elections 2017 closed today at 3 PM with the scrutiny of nominations forms beginning at 3:15 PM and getting over by 6 PM.

The University released the Provisional list of candidates whose nominations have been accepted by the Delhi University’s Election Committee.

A total of 36 candidates have applied to fight for the post of President while 26 nominations have been accepted for the post of Vice President.

36 nominations have been cleared for the post of Secretary and 27 nominations have been cleared by the University for the post of Joint Secretary.

Similar names appear in more than one list because the political parties haven’t announced their candidates yet so all the candidates expecting a ticket fills nomination for all the posts.

It is a matter of only few more hours when political groups will announce 4 names each who will contest elections which will lead to high voltage drama later on as disappointed candidates who are unable to get a ticket fights election as independent candidates to cut the vote share of their political party or supports the opponent parties.

ABVP has already released a list of 9 candidates who are being considered by the party to be given the ticket.Mahamedha Nagar,a Miranda House graduate and a current Law student who is also an ex Roadies contestant might get a ticket this year from ABVP.Other candidates who can make the cut include Ankiv Baisoya and Sudhir Dedha.

From NSUI candidates who are in the poll race are Kunal Sehrawat,ShauryaVeer Singh and Rocky Tuseed.

AISA has already released the list of its candidates fighting the DUSU Elections.Parul Chauhan will be fighting for the post of President,Aditya Baibhav will be contesting for the post of Vice President while Jaishree will be contesting for the post of Secretary and Akash Gupta will be fighting for the post of Joint Secretary.

Delhi University doesn’t recognises student political groups like AISA,ABVP,NSUI,etc.

The list of provisional candidates is attached for the post of President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary.
