A 21 year old Delhi University student has been taken into custody for allegedly stalking a women, student of Jawaharlal Nehru University. It has been claimed that the incriminated was trying to force the women to be in a relationship. A final year B Com student, Vikas who is a resident in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh and living in a rented house in Delhi was taken into custody due to the accusations.
As per the investigating officer, the woman and the accused met earlier and had a conversation after which the woman alleged that Vikas started forcing her for the relationship.
The complaint against Vikas was filed in Vasant Kunj police station which stated that initially the accused began to follow the woman, attempted to talk to her and eventually entered the university premises and reached hostel complex. After Vikas was brought to the Police Station, he confessed stalking the woman and was arrested under IPC 354D (stalking).
CCTV footage and some conversations with the family members and friends of Vikas are being taken into consideration in order to make the case more clear.
