Delhi University’s Syllabus Won’t Include Chetan Bhagat Novel & Facebook Post Writing Course At Least For This Year

Plans of Delhi University‘s  English department to include novels of Chetan Bhagat in the literature syllabus did not go down well with the teaching community of Delhi University.Teachers have also opposed the idea of DU introducing a course on writing a Facebook post.

The teachers against this idea believe that novels of Chetan Bhagat cannot be considered as literature.Well,most of the students feel the same in University.

DU has put the proposal on hold for a while and has decided to form a review committee that will put forward its recommendations if the proposal can be taken up for the next academic session or not.

An official of the English department was quoted by PTI saying a deadline hasn’t been formed for the review committee but whatever the decision is the implementations will not be seen in this academic session.

“With DU’s decision, many were upset over the introduction of Chetan Bhagat’s Five Point Someone in the syllabus and all over the internet that includes Twitter, WhatsApp and Facebook there were comments and counter comments on the story,” read the note of the meeting of DU officials.
