DU 1st Cut-Off: SRCC and Ramjas Courses Reach 100%

On Friday, October 1, DU colleges released their first cut-off lists for undergraduate admission. SRCC and several other colleges such as Ramjas and Jesus and Mary College have set a 100 percent score for admission to specific courses. Because of this, cut-offs this year appear to be higher than in 2020.

Several colleges have set cut-offs for various courses as high as 100%. This year, more than 70,000 CBSE Class 12 students secured more than 95%. Students must now select courses and colleges that they are eligible for at DU’s official website and fill out alternatives based on the cut-off.

Admission Procedure with reference to 1st List

Admissions will begin on Monday. The admission procedure for the first list will end on October 8. The entire application and admission procedure will be online. Candidates can begin applying for admission to DU colleges based on this list between October 4 and October 6. Colleges then must finalize permissions for these admissions by the evening of October 7.

Those who did not make it through this cut-off will have to wait until October 9 for the next cut-off. According to the DU calendar, the admissions process will commence online at 10 a.m. on October 4, 2021. Students will have until October 6 to apply for admissions, and until October 8 to complete the formalities (such as fee payment, document submission).

First cut-offs in 2020 also went as high as 100%. Students who received a perfect score last year in their best four subjects were admitted to Lady Shri Ram College for Women’s BA (H) Economics, BA (H) Political Science, and BA (H) Psychology programs.

Colleges with 100% Cut-Off

The following colleges have released 100% cut-offs for various courses in the first DU cut-off list this year:

  1. Shri Ram College for Commerce (SRCC)- B.A. Economics (Hons.) and B. Com (Hons.)
  2. Hindu College- B.A. Political Science (Hons.)
  3. Ramjas College- B. Com
  4. SGTB Khalsa College- B. Com
  5. Hansraj College- B. Sc. Computer Science (Hons.)
  6. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College- B. Sc. Computer Science (Hons.)
  7. Jesus and Mary College (JMC)- B.A. Psychology (Hons.)

College Initiatives to Help Students in the Admission Process

On Thursday, Delhi University’s Kirori Mal College started a project to help visually impaired students pursue higher education. The college will now provide assistance gadgets to students who are visually challenged or have low vision. This measure is part of the Aarohan initiative, which is being carried out in partnership with an NGO named Saksham.

The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) introduced a helpline number on Friday to answer students’ questions concerning the DU admissions process. NSUI national president Neeraj Kundan said it is their responsibility as a student organization to ensure that students do not experience any difficulties. The helpline number is 9268030030.
