Delhi University is one of the most sought-after universities for undergraduate studies in business, arts, and science. Because it receives applications from candidates from all over the world, the university has fairly specific selection criteria. For this reason, the cutoffs for commerce, science, and arts courses at DU also remain high every year. However, students who participate in sports and extracurricular activities can get a break from the cut-offs.

The 2021 Situation

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, DU has chosen not to conduct physical trials for ECA and Sports candidates, as it did last year. Only merit or participation certificates will be accepted for the ECA and Sports quotas, which candidates can submit online on their respective dashboards.

The New Rule With Respect to Required Certification

Till 2020, candidates in the ECA and sports categories were required to present their best three certificates from the past three years. This year, DU has enabled candidates to upload certificates from the previous four years, i.e. certifications issued between May 1, 2017, and April 30, 2021.

Since many students were unable to participate in competitions last year owing to the COVID-19 outbreak, the university made this decision.
