Delhi University’s Institute of Home Economics is all set to offer BA Journalism (Hons) course from the coming session.Institute of Home Economics will be the sixth college to offer the highly popular Journalism degree in Delhi University.
Till last year,only five colleges-Lady Sri Ram College for Women, Kalindi College, Kamla Nehru College, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce and Maharaja Agrasen College offered a course in Journalism.
“We have already been teaching specialized courses in communication, radio, film production and print media and we have the equipment to support these fields. We decided to expand and offer BA Journalism around three years ago. We will start the course from this session,” Yuki Azaad, assistant professor of development communication at the Institute of Home Economics told Hindustan Times.
According to media reports,BA Journalism (Hons) has already received 45,000 applications.
