DU Admissions 2019 : Kerala Students Body Meets Education Minister

Every year Delhi University receives applications from every corner of India, be it Kashmir in the North or Kerala in the South or Assam in the East or Gujarat in the West.

Students form societies which are regional and cater to the needs of their own state students. One such society is Maithry, of students from Kerala, imposed the issue of accommodation with Dr. KT Jaleel, Minister for Higher Education in the Southern state, of Malayali students in the national capital as the students get ready to acquire admission in the university.

“Maithry cabinet representatives met with the minister K.T Jaleel through Adv. N. Shamsudheen MLA demanding hostel services in Delhi University for Malayali students.”The meeting was a follow up of Maithry’s efforts to address the issues related to the accommodation of students in University of Delhi and in the meeting we proposed to build a hostel in Delhi as a joint venture of Central and State government,” said a statement from the organisation.

The minister has assured a meeting within two weeks with the HRD Minister to raise this issue.
