St Stephen’s College has lowered the cutoff of its courses for the Christian Scheduled Tribes category, after associations questioned the glaring contrast between cutoff for the classification and the Christian Others classification.
The college issued a warning expressing that it has been done “to guarantee better portrayal.”

The cutoffs have been diminished to underneath 90% for all courses for the class.
The Naga Students Union Delhi had written to the college’s principal, stating, “… applicants falling under the category of Christian Others may be from General Category who are in much better advantage than Christian STs as far as their social status is concerned.”
