The Delhi High Court on Tuesday directed DU to expedite results of recently held Open Book Examinations by the first week of October.
The court asked the University of Delhi to issue a notice to the principals of all its affiliated colleges for speeding up the evaluation process and declaring results quickly. Further, the varsity has been asked to issue a circular regarding the deadline (September 18) for applying for comfort or assurance letter by undergraduate and post-graduate students seeking admissions abroad.

The Delhi High Court issued directions to the varsity, including the announcement of the results of the concerned postgraduate students wishing to travel abroad for their higher studies by September 28, 2020. A Bench of Justices Hima Kohli and Subramonium Prasad heard the case today. They said, “the results of postgraduate students, who wish to go abroad for higher studies, be uploaded on the Delhi University’s portal the same day on the letterhead of the varsity along with digital signature by the concerned official without a rider that the result is provided. The students can also download the result from the website.”

The varsity has also assured the High Court for sending the finalized letter for UG students containing provisional results to foreign universities before well within their cut-off dates. This will be done on a priority basis. So, if a foreign university announces September 17 as a cut-off date, the University of Delhi will issue the letter to them by September 17, 2020. In the next hearing on September 23, 2020, the varsity will provide a fixed date for declaring the results of the final year under-graduation students.

The Phase 1 Open Book Examination was conducted from August 10 to Aug 31, 2020, while Phase 2 started on September 14 (Monday). According to the sources, over 3,000 final year UG and PG students appeared for the exams.
