In another case of scuffle between the college administration and the students of JNU, students of Delhi University also joined their JNU counterparts to protest against the “police lathicharge” on the students. The students also protested against the New Education Policy to prevent the “privatization”of education.
According to a report by The Times Of India, on Wednesday, the DU students unabashedly raised “anti-police” and “anti-government” slogans to stand in solidarity with the students of JNU, who were allegedly baton-charged on Monday in a scuffle with the Delhi Police personnel. The police, however, have denied lathicharging, using tear gas or any form of violence against students.
The students of JNU have been protesting against a draft hostel manual, which has provisions for fee-hike, dress code and curfew timings.
