Kalamkaar Literature Festival 2.0 started off on an eccentric and enthusiastic note. The inaugural of the auspicious event took place in the presence of, Chief Guest Dr. Harish Nawal, Guest of honor, Prof. Pawan Mathur, keynote speaker Dr. Jyoti Rana and our special guest Dr. Marcus Bussey.
An exhibition of paintings,sketches and crafts item by the fine arts wing of kalamkaar was set up which was highly appreciated by our guests and audience. The day began with a keen discussion on ‘Writing in Scientific Temperament’ by Prof. Mathur. Further the audience was awestruck when Dr. Rana shared her philosophy on ‘Leadership: Creativity to capacity.’ Sometimes introspection is necessary to build a creative leader!
The inaugural session was then followed by an energetic session by Shri Nilotpal Mrinal who shared his views on ‘Evolution of Language with Time’. His witty sense of humour left the audience in giggles and laughter while at the same time stating as to why such evolution was required especially in the 21st century. Dr. Marcus Bussey tried to inculcate that the language of love comes from heart and no one can ever stop you from being creative in that arena!
The final session of KLF 2.0 was a panel discussion based on the burning topic ‘ Freedom of Expression’. The panelists – Prof. Kapil Kumar, Ms Anshu Pathak, Ms Sarjana Sharma and, our very own Moderator Dr. Nisha Rana discussed this topic keeping in mind the, direction artistic liberty provides and stated as to how this freedom was being misused in our country to some certain extent. We as youth, should come forward and raise our voice for he things happening in our country. Their brilliant statements and point of views kept the audience tightly held to their seats. Finally a wonderful performance by members of Kalamkaar on ‘Incredible India’ ended the KLF on a high note, setting the stage for the most awaited Kavi Samelan on 23 February. Different stalls were setup in the college campus itself to keep our audience engaging even outside the auditorium, be it the stall of our food partner Quick Momo Bite to refresh our audience in the breaks between different sessions and also the book stall by Vagaar and “Oriflame”, a famous company of beauty products which came for the first time with free beauty consultancy and huge discounts on their amazing products.
The most awaited event of the fest “Kalamkaar Kavi Sammelan 3.0” started with a play “Pyar diwar ke us paar” by Yavanika : The theatre society of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya college in collaboration with Kalamkaar: The literary society of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College. When the play ended many ‘Kalamkaars’ of our society boosted the excitement of the audience who were keen to listen to Jugal Kishor, Naman Srivastava, Amanat Khan and Bharti Sharma. The poems and shayaris by the members kept the audience on their seats!
As the Kavi’s arrived an echo of applaud thundered in the auditorium. Shri Rao Ajatshatru , who arrived straight away from Rajasthan, was the navigator and humorist poet.Shri Shambhu Sikhar from Bihar , was their to keep the audience giggling. All the poets were mainly of “hasya and Veer Ras”. The two vast pillars in the world of poetry.
Shayara Mumtaz Nazeem from Aligarh , Shri Gajendra Solanki ji, poets on “vyangya ras” were present there.Soon as they arrived, there was lightening of lamp in symphony with the Saraswati Vandana in presence of our Honourable Principal Sir (Dr. S.k. Garg), Vice principal (H.C. Jain), Mrs. Charu Kalra (Convenor of Kalamkaar society) and other senior teachers. Soon the team felicitated and welcomed our guests and poets.
Then each of our poet held the dice and created a spark with their words inside the audience.
The auditorium was full of claps and whistles.In between many of our budding writers( Sudhan singh kaintura, Nitanshi Gautam, Shushant)presented their poem gaining a lot of appreciation from audience and our poet guests. At the end, Convenor Mrs. Kalra made everyone emotional by her patriotic poem.
The event went over till 9 p.m. with the group photos. This was one of the best nights of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College creating a huge impact on the minds of the attendants.
