LSR’s Dance Society Allegedly Disqualified At IIT Delhi’s Rendezvous After LSR’s Team Asked For Water

Yes you read that correctly.Lady Shri Ram College’s Dance Society in a Facebook post has alleged that they were disqualified at IIT Delhi’s Cultural Fest Rendezvous yesterday after they asked for wing water prior to performance which was earlier promised by the volunteers.

The Dance Society has asked several questions from the organising team hinting at the mismanagement and politics played against them at one of India’s biggest college fest.

The questions asked by the Dance Society are :

  • Is it justified for a host team to disqualify a participant team for asking for wing water and claiming it as “misbehaviour” after it was promised?
  • Is it okay for the host team to hold us accountable for any delay even though they chose to put endless breaks and filler performances, announcing that the ‘the next team is not ready’?
  • Is it fair for the host team to disqualify a team without consulting or at least informing the judges or warning the team in question? At any point of time, the organisers could have announced that LSR was disqualified for “misbehaving”, but they chose not to. We were informed about the disqualification around 9pm, long after the event and the result.
  • If the circuit claims to stand together for their love of dance and to make this game a fair one then this is the time when truth needs to be acknowledged and supported and all teams have to become one unit and condemn dirty politics being played out by IIT Delhi based on their own whims and fancies.

In another Facebook post they have alleged that the results were changed by the organising team as the judges gave a different result and the result declared was different.

There has been no response yet from the Organising team of Rendezvous but if the accusations put forward by LSR’s Dance Society are true then surely it raises a question mark on the credibility of such competitions taking place in the college circuit where students work hard throughout the year but in the end such personal bias hampers the result.
