The National Students Union of India (NSUI) is in trouble since its nomination for Presidential post in Jawaharlal Nehru University JNU might get cancelled.¬†As of Saturday Night it wasn’t decided weather the nomination will stand cancelled or not. This step has been taken because Vikas Yadav did not follow the Delhi High Court’s order.

NSUI further added that Vikas Yadav had received a mail on September 7 regarding a complaint that was lodged against him on September 5th but Vikas Yadav did not turn up and hence a disciplinary action has been taken against him by the authorities. The Grievance Redressal Cell of the university has “recommended” to the Election Committee that his candidature be cancelled.

The entire dilemma has a backstory in which Vikas Yadav had started selling Pakoda’s on campus as a mark of protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment that even Pakoda Selling was a kind of Employment.

Vikas Yadav has been slapped with a fine of Rupees 20,000 and the Payment is yet to be done.

The authorities also said that they have been trying to get in contact with him over phone but they got no response and then finally mailed him about his Hearing in Court,NSUI in it’s¬†defence¬†said that Vikas Yadav was completely unaware about the complaint and got to know about his hearing only 13 minutes prior and also added that the cancellation was deliberately timed for Friday to stop him from going to Court.

The court has given him relief related to academic programme and he was asked to appeal to the Vice-Chancellor. The matter is pending in the office of the VC. The JNU elections are going to be conducted on September 14th.NSUI incharge Ruchi Gupta said, ‚ÄúThe cancellation of Vikas Yadav‚Äôs candidature is clearly mala fide, and also said that this is exactly what happened with Rocky Tuseed as well last year in DUSU elections, she also added that the University is reacting under political pressure and nothing else.”
