Over 450 Law Faculty Students At Delhi University Detained For Low Attendance

More than 450 students of the Delhi University’s Law Faculty have been detained for low attendance and wont be allowed to take the semester examinations starting this week.

Some detained students said that there are discrepancies in the attendance issued by the faculty.

We have given timely reminders to students who were falling short of attendance but none of them took them seriously. How can we allow such students to sit for the exams even after skipping classes throughout the semester?” she said. Confirming that issues were found in the attendance of few students, she said, “We are fixing it. Admit cards will be issued to them by Thursday.” Law Faculty Dean Ved Kumari told DNA.

Board Council of India rules for LLB students state that no student shall be promoted to the next term, if he/she has been detained in the examination after falling short of the mandatory 70% attendance.
