Delhi University announced yesterday that it will be releasing three more cutoffs for admission to undergraduate courses because seats are still vacant in many colleges which means college’s wont be releasing merit lists now.
The sixth cutoff will be announced on 20th August 2016 and admissions will be conducted under this cutoff till 22nd August 2016.The University has already announced five cutoff lists.
This year Delhi University decided it will only announce five cutoff lists and admissions on the vacant seats will be done on merit system. The admissions under the fifth cutoff list got over on 22nd June 2016.
Till now admissions on the vacant seats were done through merit lists after the fifth cutoff. Registered students were asked to apply again for vacant seats and a merit list was declared by each college.
The admissions under the merit system got over on 16th August 2016.
“We are restarting the cutoff system for admissions. Many students have withdrawn admissions due to which there are vacant seats in different in many colleges. There will be three cutoffs,” said a University official.
The seventh cutoff list will come on 24th August 2016 and admissions under this cutoff will happen till 26th August 2016. The eight cutoff list will be out on 29th August 2016 and admissions under this cutoff will be completed on 30th August 2016.
