Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College celebrated 111th Birth Anniversary of the Martyr Bhagat Singh today.The celebration started by paying tribute to the freedom fighter for his sacrifices towards the nation and its people.The main statue which is situated in the college premises was decorated and covered with flowers and Tri-color.
As the celebration’s moved forward the crowd gathered in the seminar hall as Dr Charanpal Singh was invited as the Guest Speaker to speak a few words about the great soul.
He enlightened the students with his knowledge about Shaheed Bhagat Singh and even told the reason why he was named so,apparently it was this day that his grand father and uncle escaped from the prison of the British and hence ‘Bhaga’.
He even told the students why Shaheed Bhagat Singh had such a strong desire to serve and protect his country.He was 11 or 12 years old when the Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place,a student of class 6th or class 7th,he had strong determination and love for his country.On that day he said that till the day he doesn’t throw the britishers out of this country and takes revenge for all the souls that had been killed in the Jallianwala Bagh,he won’t stay calm.
The complete program focused on the vision Bhagat Singh had for the nation and how we as youngsters can serve our country.
In the end all the students,teachers and the college union paid their tribute to the legend on his birth anniversary.
