Lady Shri Ram College for Women, the name has it all. One of the best colleges in the country, LSR is a dream for all the students out there. Quick Tips
Being in LSR, you are saved from the tiring journey of metro all the way to Vishwavidyalaya and the hustle of the rickshaws and auto. Moolchand and Kailash Colony are the nearest stations. Hence, you can easily walk down to the college in 5 minutes.
Remember to keep enough time to navigate through the guards at the gate. Let me put it straight: you will not be allowed to enter even with your library card. So, ID card is the only life buoy.
Located in one of the poshest areas in Delhi, markets and eateries surround the college. The GK blocks, Lajpat Nagar, Back market are always the ideal go-to place for anything and everything. Moreover, local and popular food spots like Moolchand Paranthe, Dolma Aunty Momos add cheer to everyone’s tiring lives. Surrounded by places like Big Chill, Korean Cultural Centre, Wafflesome, it becomes hard to resist them.
Campus Life
The college can be divided into the New Building and the Old Building. The former one is a recently built structure with a feel of current day uni. Whereas, the old building reeks of school vibes. Reference Section is one of the few places with an AC, thus, expect it to be flooded in summers. The exquisite library, raging amphitheatre, chirping exhibition halls, calming peace centre and delighted sports area makes the LSR campus life worth it. Having everything from a cafe to Nescafe to Mother Dairy to the favourite South Indian Aunty inside the college, leaves no body wanting to step out for food. Not to forget, the back gate momos and the front gate bhel puri are a relish.
With strong, independent women around you and ideas flowing from every corner, it provides you with a space to express. The aura of the institution allows one to ideate, discuss, engage, execute and create meaningful impact across a number of facets.
In addition, LSR has a wide number of societies. From dance to music to drama to social service to social entrepreneurship to fine arts to sports to debates, it has it all. The societies boost the college atmosphere like nothing else. Morning practices of Drama society, evening sessions of Dance society, discussions of MUN society, the NCC drills; each and every part is a feeling of euphoria.
Besides, everyone looks up to annual fests like Tarang, Noor and other department fests like Econvista and Comquest. It gives a respite from the rigorous academic life and attracts a whole lot of students from different colleges all across. The campus life is incomplete without the dogs of LSR. The campus boasts of ten beautiful dogs without whom you can’t experience the ‘magic of LSR’. The lush green lawns and flowers are a perfect photograph spot. The campus always oozes fresh energy and vibrance.
Administration and Teachers
The college has amazing faculty and a very supportive administration staff. Furthermore, professors always go an extra mile to help the students. Rather, they are more punctual than the students themselves. Seeing our teachers so motivated and driven, we get the much needed inspiration to put in our best. Always there to help you, through thick and thin, with and beyond academics, the teachers are an integral part of what LSR stands for.
The classes take place regularly. There are no political disruptions as such. Thus, it provides a conducive space to learn, discuss, evolve and grow with the peers and the teachers.
Internships and Placements
The college undoubtedly offers best of the placement and internship opportunities. McKinsey, Bank of America, JSW among others are seen on campus. The Placement Cell works round the year, which helps students to smoothly navigate through the process. With companies coming round the year, the students have an immense set of options to choose from. However, the competition is equally strong. Every person is better than the other.
