just a few days before the Festive Season begins and we all can feel the smog settling in, with the Air Quality hitting very poor level in Delhi, it is severe in Gurgaon and Ghaziabad, thus to counter this problem. The Supreme Court on Monday announced that the Transport Department in Delhi and in the neighbouring states should take a action against the same.
Thus the SC has ordered to seize the vehicles that are 15 year old Petrol and 10 year old Diesel in the National Capital Region.
In the Age of Internet, we must make proper use of the facility and hence a Bench headed by Justices Madan B Lokur, S Abdul Nazeer and Deepak Gupta also asked the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to create an account on Social Media, where people could register complaints related to Pollution and thus make the Authorities Accountable. This step has been taken because of the Non-Implementation of Stickers on vehicles and thus it is very difficult to differentiate between old and new vehicles.
The Order has been put into immediate action as the need of the hour demands it, with Air Pollution rising to 40% in NCR, All the diesel vehicles 10 year old and all the petrol vehicles 15 year old have been banned on the Roads and if still found will be seized. The court also added that a meaningful Advertisement should be published in the Newspaper so that people can be made aware of the order of the court.
