The question of women’s safety is becoming a rising issue during this fest season. With the recent occurrence of Gargi College’s fest ‘Reverie’ turning into abashment of hooleys, has made every college petrified to organize fests further.

Keeping in mind the same, Lady Shri Ram College announced that it will defer its annual fest ‘Tarang’ until further notice. This has been done keeping in mind the security and safety of the students. While the union is concerned about the safety of the students after the Gargi College mishap, while the students, on the other hand, decided to defer the annual fest as a gesture of support to those protesting against CAA.

The Hindu reports “As citizens and students, it is important to show solidarity. In these times, we need to come together and to do our best to support the struggle. We cannot choose to ignore the socio-political situation of this country and the fact that democracy is in danger,” the statement from the dramatic society of Lady Shri Ram College read.

We reached out to the Student Union of Lady Shri Ram College for Women who declined to issue a statement on this matter. Many college students believe that Tarang will be cancelled this year.

As the question of safety rises, the union isn’t supportive of any protest on college premises as well as the annual fest ‘Tarang’ for it may create a critical and adverse situation for the students.
