In accordance with the “Guidelines on Examinations and Academic Calendar for Universities in view of COVID-19 Pandemic and subsequent Lockdown”, released by University Grants Commission dated 29.04.2020, the University of Delhi has finally released the revised Academic Calendar for the beginning of new sessions as well as the continuation of the previous one.
Through a notice dated 30.05.2020, the University of Delhi has informed its students about the new Academic Calendar and has also mentioned that the calendar is subject to change depending on the situation arising out of the prevailing COVID-19 conditions or any other exigency.
The classes for the even semester of the present academic year began on January 1, 2020, and came to a pause after the mid-semester break on March 16, 2020. The online teaching process through various sources began on 16th March 2020 and continued till 14th May 2020 with remedial classes afterward.
19th May 2020 to 12th June 2020 has been reserved by University for evaluation of Internal assessment, practicals, fieldwork, internship, question paper setting, etc. The University has announced summer vacations from 13th June 2020 to 30th June 2020 and the new academic session for odd semesters (3rd semester/ 2nd year and 5th semester/ 3rd year) begins on 1st August.
The new academic session for 1st semester/1st-year students will begin on 1st September 2020. The Calendar mentions that it has been issued under the direction of the Competent Authority.
