The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the latest guidelines permitting the varsities to conduct exams across the country. Unfortunately, both educationists and students are not happy with this decision. They are and have been demanding the cancellation of final year university exams due to the health risks.
Former University Grants Commission Chairman- Sukhdeo Thorat, and 27 other teachers from various universities have also sent a letter to the current UGC Chairman regarding the same; it was sent on 9th July 2020. Professors from the University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University, University of Mumbai, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad and others have also signed that letter. It seeks cancellation of the exams for the final year and instead evaluates the students on past performance.
Furthermore, the professors have also raised concerns that the current situation will surely have a significant impact on a student’s life if he/she catches the infection. The immediate advantages of cancelling exams are that – first, repeated, but unavoidable postponements can be avoided, and secondly, it protects the integrity of the examination by ensuring equal treatment for all the examinees and supervision to prevent cheating.
After all, the proposed mode of examination, as stated by many, plays with the whole examination system.
Final year exams generally conducted in month of March and April and since their is huge gap ,so how can we write exam at present all students are disturbed due to covid 19 , everywhere is fear , anxiety , we are not in such a condition that we can write exam so, it is humble request to you please cancel the exams. Life is more more important than exam.

Ugc should promote us on assignment base and previous performance base like 1st and 2nd year students .. now exams became headache for every final year students 😭😭 … #promotefinalyear..🙏🙏🙏
Promote every student according to his/ her previous grades , if anyone wants to improve their grades then they shall write examinations when everything has become safe.
We were always being taught about equality and equal opportunity in schools, colleges and universities… What we see in practical is big Zero. With such horrible and panic situation how students will able to write exams???? It will be totally unfair … . Some Students will definitely going to get panic attack, Mark My words.
We are not even mentally fit to give online papers nor do we have proper resourses, what about those students whose relatives have been affected and their is stress in family atleast think about the students we have given papers for 7 semester regularly without fail.
We r mentally not ready and physically as well due to afraid of health risk for dangerous Corona virus.
So It’s request to cancel final year exam and promote as per our previous performance
Our mental pressure is very high in this situation we can’t concentrate on exam.please cancelled the exams. Jaan hai to jahaan hai .please understand
Now our situation is not good to write an exam so kindly cancel it. It’s my humble request.
