Facebook owned instant messaging platform officially announced the launch of its Whatsapp Business App last week,designed for the businesses to connect with their customers,is a free-to-download app for business users.
The app will help customers with useful information about business description,email & store addresses and their website details.It will also provide smart messaging tools for the customers such as quick replies to frequently ask questions and greeting messages that introduce customers to your business, away messages that let them know you’re busy.
People will know that they’re talking to a business,as the account will be listed as business account on whatsapp.Over time,some businesses will have a permanent accounts,once it is confirmed that the contact number of the business matches the business account phone number.
Also the people who do not wish to receive the messages,will still have the liberty to block or mark these messages sent by these business accounts as spam.
The interested business owners cannot use the same contact number that they use for their current Whatsapp account,they’ll be required to register with a different number.
This App launched in India last week,Whatsapp has already launched it in Indonesia, Mexico, Italy, UK and USA.
The features and services highlighted by Whatsapp through this business app is expected to help SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) to expand their reach of customers and help them communicate better with their market.
